Troubleshooting Connection Issues
Twitter: "App not authorized"
Cause: OAuth callback mismatch.
Fix:
- Go to Twitter Developer Portal
- Check app callback URL:
https://elasticdomain.com/api/auth/twitter/callback - Re-authorize in Brand Central
LinkedIn: "Invalid scope"
Cause: Missing w_member_social permission.
Fix:
- Disconnect LinkedIn in Brand Central
- Reconnect and ensure "Post updates" permission is checked
Facebook: "No pages found"
Cause: You're not an admin of any Facebook Pages.
Fix:
- Go to your Facebook Page Settings
- Add yourself as Admin (if you're not already)
- Wait 5 minutes for permissions to sync
- Retry connection
Understanding Permissions
What We CAN Do
- Post text, images, videos on your behalf
- Schedule posts for future publishing
- Read public engagement metrics (likes, shares, comments)
- Delete posts we created (cannot delete your existing posts)
What We CANNOT Do
- Read your private messages
- Change your profile picture or bio
- Follow/unfollow accounts
- Access financial information
- Post without your explicit scheduling
Security Best Practices
- ✅ Review connected apps quarterly (remove unused access)
- ✅ Use separate admin account for business pages
- ✅ Enable 2FA on all social accounts
- ✅ Revoke access immediately if you see suspicious activity
- ❌ Don't share your ElasticDomain login credentials
- ❌ Don't connect personal accounts for business use (create company pages instead)
Disconnecting Accounts
- Go to Brand Central → Settings
- Find account to disconnect
- Click "Disconnect"
- Confirm action
What happens: Scheduled posts are cancelled. Historical analytics remain visible. OAuth tokens revoked.
